Postpartum Care

Cultures around the world have long revered the postpartum period as a time of profound significance, honoring the mama-baby dyad with practices that celebrate new life and support maternal well-being.

Known as the Fourth Trimester, many traditions prioritize a period of rest, nourishing foods, warming treatments, and loving presence to support the internal and external world of a new Mother.

Through this lens, my intention as a postpartum doula is to nurture a Mother so that she has the capacity to regenerate and emerge with vibrant health for future decades to come.

Postpartum Offerings:

Based on the time we have and your unique needs and/or budget, my care includes:

  • preparing nourishing, nutrient dense, easily digestible foods

  • preparing collagenous, restorative bone broth & healing herbal infusions

  • providing warming treatments to help cleanse, heal and restore the body: herbal sitz baths, castor oil packs, pelvic steam, foot soak, massage

  • lactation and feeding support

  • baby care (if desired) while Mother tends to bathroom needs

  • tend to other children while mother-baby rest

  • offer guidance around newborn care: baby wearing, diapering, soothing

  • light housework/tidying up

  • provide local referrals if needed

  • hold space to share and process feelings around the birth, postpartum, and newborn experience.
